Our local story

The first Hope into Action home in Reading was opened in 2016, providing accommodation to single men in recovery from addiction who had worked through rehabilitation programs at Yeldall Manor. The second home opened in 2017 for single women and women with a child. Our third home opened in 2021 for single men, our fourth in 2025 for up to 2 men, and a fifth is about to open in 2026, hopefully for a family. We now house up to 10 single men or women who have found themselves homeless from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Our mission for the future

In 2026, our fifth house will open, probably for a family, and we will consolidate there for the time being!

You can help in a number of ways. First, you can pray for us! Email Mary Lewis, our team leader, to get our regular newsletters with prayer points. Secondly, you can give! We need a regular income in order to keep our houses open and our staff carrying out their mission.
